Finally, Running.

I joined a triathlon club at BYU, and it was great! I met a lot of really cool people who all liked running. We did a 16x 400m workout on the BYU track, but I ended up only doing 12 reps, because I was still getting acclimated to the altitude. I instantly clicked with the group, and had a great time. It felt like track back at HSE, but with people who were more focused on the Gospel. We even started out with a prayer, which I'm still getting used to, but is really cool considering that never happens in Indy.

Working as a Camp Councilor

Being a camp councilor is…. not what I was expecting. Today was my first day and to say the least it was one of the funnest days I’ve had this month.  For starters I was surprised to find out I’ll being working with 4-7 year olds all week….. I knew I’d be working with them for the morning but I found out after/during my lunch break that I’d also be working/being a councilor for them in the afternoon as well.  Oh my gosh these kids are adorable. So the first group I worked with was in the morning from 9–12. I played with a kid named Andy, he was a little bit anti social but I got him to play so that was nice. I also talked to a girl named Eleanor, she was actually the first kid I interacted with. When you ask kids at camp if they want to make friends there, I found out that the majority of them are nervous/shy and arnt confident in their friend making abilities. Eleanor and Andy were in that category.  In the first camp I lead one of the games, it’s where I called ou...

Sunday Productivity

Today was probably one of the best Sundays I've had in a long time. I found out which ward I was supposed to go to, and had a great sacrament meeting and sunday school. A speaker I really liked was the stake president of the area (I don't remember his name), and he gave a talk on how faith is different and personal for everyone. He explained that water was special to Moses, and that's why so many miracles were related to water when God helped Moses. (Parting of the Red Sea, Turning the River into blood, hitting the rock and having water come out, etc). Faith is different for everyone and is personal for everyone, just like the Atonement. In Sunday School, I got to have a discussion about D&C 79 and 80, which were directions given by God to some missionaries. One part that really stuck out to me and the group was D&C 80:3, which reads:  Wherefore, go ye and preach my gospel, whether to the north or to the south, to the east or to the west, it mattereth not, for y...
